North East India is known for its rich biodiversity with its stunningly impressive flora and fauna. Not on the list of topmost visited destinations, touring this part of India would be more like exploring the unexplored. North East India comprises eight states namely Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Sikkim. Except for Sikkim, the other states are referred to as Seven Sisters and Sikkim is considered the Brother State.
Snow-covered mountains, breathtaking valleys, sprawling tea plantations, wildlife sanctuaries and natural habitats for endangered species are just a few of the endless beauty, serenity and adventure offered by North East India.
Assam’s Kaziranga National Park, a tiger reserve, is home to the famous one-horned rhinos of India. This amazing park can be explored in jeep and elephant safaris.
Visiting the second wettest place on earth can be an experience in itself. Cherrapunji in Meghalaya receives rain throughout the year. In a day trip to Cherrapunji, you can visit some of the most important tourist destinations including the fourth highest waterfalls in India and also get to walk on the living root bridges, which are very specific to this region.
Famous for its spectacular nature, Dirang has a mesmerising effect on tourists. The hot spring here is a must-visit destination while you are here.

Airport pick up and private transfer to the hotel.
Explore the dense forest of Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to the most number of one-horned rhinoceros. The elusive leopards are also spotted here. This place is also a bird lover’s paradise. An hour’s drive from Pobitora lies the famous Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary. Adventure lovers can go trekking, zip lining and rock climbing here.
Drive to Shillong, which is around 2 hours drive from Guwahati. It is time to unwind after visiting wildlife sanctuaries the previous day. What better place than Shillong, famously called the ‘Scotland of the East’?
Have a field day on the one day trip to the second wettest place on earth, Cherrapunji. Visit the Seven Sisters Falls, the fourth highest falls in India, walk on the double decker living root bridges, explore India’s longest cave systems in Jaintia Hills.
Drive to Kaziranga (7 ½ hours). Relax at the hotel before an enjoyable safari in one of the four zones of the famous Kaziranga.
One day is not enough to cover all the four zones of Kaziranga. You have a whole day for two more safaris in Kaziranga National Park. Both elephant and jeep safaris are available. Out of the four zones, eastern zone offers boat safari and Burapahar zone is a hilly region and great for trekking.
Drive to Bhalukpong (approximately 3 hours) and relax in the hotel.
Drive to Tawang (7.30 hours) from Bhalukpong and rest for the day to get ready for the next day’s adventures.
Visit the mesmerising Pankang Teng Tso, a high altitude lake with the snow-covered Himalayas as the backdrop and expansive grasslands all around. Visit Thingbu hot spring hailed for its medicinal properties. Visit Tawang Monastery, which is India’s largest.
Drive to Dirang (4 hours) and it is now time to relax and get ready for the next day.
Get immersed in the beauty of Sangti Valley surrounded by majestic Himalayan ranges. Explore the most ancient village Thembang that dates back to 1st century AD. Thembang is a UNESCO heritage site. Visit Dirang Dzong Fort just 45 minutes away from Thembang.
Drive to Nameri (4 hours) and settle down in the comforts of the hotel. After a break, visit Nameri National Park, famous for elephants and a good number of endangered species including Indian wild dog.
Go on a safari through dense forests to explore Nameri National Park. With luck, you may spot the endangered white-winged wood duck and Indian wild dog. Jeep and elephant safaris are available.
The tour comes to a close and you fly back to your home carrying great memories of the wonders of North East India.
